3,600 backpacks filled for New Hampshire students by Pack a Pack drive

Thanks to the generosity of WMUR viewers, 3,600 New Hampshire students will start the school year with all the supplies they need.Volunteers worked Friday to fill backpacks with school supplies and healthy snacks for WMUR’s annual Pack a Pack drive. This year’s goal was to fill 3,000 backpacks, but enough donations came in to fill hundreds more. Organizers at Service Credit Union said the community response this year was incredible.”The gut reaction is wow! Every year it’s wow,” said Jaime Yates, of Service Credit Union. “There’s all the snacks and all the school supplies. I know that the need is just growing every year to get the school supplies ready, so it’s a wow factor for me every time.”The bags will start being delivered on Monday.
