Elks Lodge members give food sacks to community via Hope Center

Members of the Pratt Elks Lodge #1451 used a Gratitude Grant from their organization to create 20 special food bags which they donated to the Hope Center for distribution where needed.

The Gratitude Grant is one of the CIP (Community Investment Programs). Gratitude Grants range from $2000 to 3500 which are ENF’s way of saying thank you to every Elk’s Lodge that meets the National President’s per member goal for giving to the ENF (Elks National Foundation).

The Pratt Elks Lodge #1451 qualified for this $2500 and, as required used it to support a local, charitable activities.

“Lodge #1451 chose to support the Hope Center request for food that is needed in our community as explained by the Hope Center Director, Pam Ford,” said Pratt Elks member Linda Stelzer. “The Hope Center in our community is a resource for people who may be in an emergency situation. The Director suggested food items that will provide healthy snacks and two casserole recipes. The request from the Hope Center was for 20 sacks of food. The Hope Center will periodically contact the Elks Grant Team concerning the need for additional sacks of food.”

Those needed the type of food, or other local assistance may contact the Hope Center at (620) 933-2166, or stop in during open hours at 314 S. Main Street, Pratt.
