Healthy snacks you can buy at Walmart to lose weight – SFGATE

Snyder's of Hanover 100 Calorie Variety Pack, 22 Ct

Before I even dive into the snacks, I will say that the healthiest snacks are obviously fruits and vegetables. That being said, you can still indulge in some healthy, low-calorie snacks that actually taste good. You don’t need to go 100% organic, and eating a processed snack won’t kick you off your health journey – I have lost 30 pounds in the last few months on Noom and I’ve shopped for snacks anywhere I can, like Target, Trader Joe’s, Walmart, Stop & Shop, and Whole Foods (note I am not a dietician or a nutritionist).

If you’re looking to save while still enjoying tasty food, Walmart typically has the lowest prices on these snacks.

Snyders 100 Calorie Pretzel Packs

Packaged snacks, instead of having the whole bag, will help with portion control, and pretzels are an easy, salty win when snacking.

Lily’s Dark Chocolate Baking Chips

While pretzels are a perfectly fine snack on their own, I usually like to get a little extra flavor. I often mix in a handful of chocolate chips to add some sweet to the saltiness. Chocolate-covered pretzels can be high in calories (my favorite bag from Trader Joe’s are 140 calories for five mini pretzels), but this combination hits that craving while not overloading on calories.

Cheetos Simply Crunchy

“Simply” is Frito Lay’s lower-calorie snack brand. You can find a number of favorite snack foods with lower-calorie, low-fat options here, like these Cheetos. For the same serving weight (28 grams), you’d get 32 pieces of Simply Cheetos, whereas for the regular Cheetos you’d only get about 13 pieces.

Simply Cheetos Puffs White Cheddar

I was initially getting the big bags of these Cheetos and measuring out the serving portion with my mini scale, but then I saw this 8-count bag when I was shopping in the store and I tossed a few of these in my cart. To be able to eat Cheetos and lose weight is God’s greatest gift to me.

Yasso Fudge Brownie Greek Yogurt Bars

There are a ton of Yasso flavors like chocolate chip cookie dough, sea salt caramel, or plain ol’ fudge. But the fudge brownie flavor? Top tier. For 100 calories a bar, with five grams of protein, you cannot beat this as a snack. I have one every single day and it always curbs my chocolate cravings.

Here’s a tip: these are cheaper at Walmart than they are at Target, Whole Foods, or your local grocery store.

Cool Whip Lite

As I mentioned, fruits and vegetables are your healthiest snack options. Not everyone likes a big bowl of just fruit. If you need a little extra sugar without pouring granulated sugar on your fruit, you can opt for some lite Cool Whip. I will tell you that Cool Whip is actually healthy, but a 20-calorie serving a day will not hurt you. It has 50% less fat than other whipped toppings, in case you’re tracking your fat intake. More importantly, Cool Whip pairs perfectly with some fresh strawberries

V8 Hydrate

It is weird to tell you to have a drink as a snack, but this is an easy swap for people who really struggle to eat their veggies. One can of this V8 Hydrate is a serving of veggies. It tastes much better than its big brother, the original V8, because it is cucumber and strawberry heavy, not tomato-based.

Quaker Rice Cakes Whole Grain Chocolate

I know people snack on these chocolate rice cakes with yogurt or peanut butter, but I eat these plains. They are sweet and crunchy, and for me, they require no additions whatsoever.

Quaker Rice Cakes Whole Grain Chocolate

I have eaten these lightly salted rice cakes since I was a toddler, but I no longer mush on them with my gums. Instead, I add some smashed avocado or lite whipped cream cheese with a pinch of “Everything But the Bagel” seasoning.

Fiber One Brownies

If you go on TikTok, you will see these Fiber One brownies recommended in every single “I lost X pounds, here’s what I ate” video. They are 5 net carbs, 2 grams of sugar, 70 calories, and they have 6 grams of fiber. I still vividly remember a commenter on TikTok saying not to eat four of these in one sitting because of the fiber content, so… you’ve been warned by an over-sharing TikToker.

Motts No Sugar Added Applesauce

While I enjoy eating fresh fruit, I hate having to grocery shop once a week to get it.  So I do not care if I sound like a baby: I love applesauce. You can buy it for cheap, in bulk, and it won’t go bad forever

Nature Valley Cinnamon Brown Sugar Soft-Baked Oatmeal Squares

Nature Valley

I actually used to eat these squares when I was a broke college kid. Salads cost $15 there and I preferred getting Starbucks for $6 and munching on this at lunchtime. As stupid as that was then, these oatmeal bars are actually really good and hit that sweet spot when you’re craving a cookie.
